Potential Users

Potential users are children who:

  • are finicky eaters, eat only specific foods, or avoid large groups of foods altogether
  • are over-fed but under nourished, eating large quantities of high calorie foods with low nutritional value
  • do not drink or eat 3 to 5 servings of calcium rich foods a day
  • eat fast foods and take-away meals more than once a week
  • are extremely active, which creates more of a challenge for their growing bodies to obtain optimal nutrition

Description

Essentials for Kids provides valuable nutrients in a delicious cherry-flavored chewable tablet. In a perfect world, children would receive all the nutrients they need from the food they consume. Most children do not eat a wide variety of food and therefore do not receive the recommended daily allowances from each food group due to finicky eating, food preferences, and poor eating habits. Essentials for Kids assists parents in providing adequate nutrition for their growing children. Each tablet is full of vitamins, minerals and nutrients vital for healthful child development.

Common Questions

Q: When my child first started using Essentials for Kids, I noticed a change in their urine color to a bright yellow. Is this usual?
A: This is very common due to the rich plant pigments contained in Essentials for Kids, especially the Vitamin B2.

Q: My child has difficulty chewing and swallowing the chewable tablets. May I crush them and mix them with food?
A: You may cut the chewable tabets in half or crush them to make them easier to chew or swallow. Find what works for them to make taking their chewable a pleasant experience. Mix the crushed chewable into a food that your child enjoys, such as yogurt, cereal or applesauce. If they drink the Protein Shake, crush then blend the chewable in with the shake. Crushing, cutting or mixing the tablet in with food does not damage the nutritional value of the chewable as long as your child consumes it relatively soon.

Q: My child is 14, should they take Essentials for Kids?
A: Essentials for Kids is designed for children ages 4 through 12. Once they become teenagers, we recommend that they take the Multi‐Vitamin Essentials to meet the needs of their larger, growing bodies. At age 13 and beyond, many children are able to swallow tablets and capsules without difficulty. If they do not transition well, the tablets may be crushed and capsules may be opened. The resulting powder may then be mixed with food, drink or a Protein Shake to make them easier to swallow.

Q: How many Essentials for Kids bottles should I order in my monthly Easy Ship order if I have an 8 year old daughter and a 10 year old son?
A: In order to have daily vitamins for your children, order a total of 3 Essentials for Kids each month, 1 for your 8 year old and 2 for your 10 year old son. We recommend one Essentials for Kids chewable per day for children ages 4 to 8 and two chewables per day for children ages 9 to 12. When your son turns 13, he should begin taking the Multi-Vitamin Essentials instead of the chewable Essentials for Kids.

Q: Why is it important for children to take a multi-vitamin?
A: Children’s bodies require ample nutrients to help them grow, learn and have energy. Multi-vitamins ensure that they receive a baseline amount of essential vitamins and minerals each day that their body is unable to produce on its own. Essential nutrients, such as those provided in Essentials for Kids, can only be obtained from foods and supplements.

Q: I have been giving my child the Fruit and Vegetable Essentials but noticed that the Essentials for Kids contains a Fruit & Vegetable Blend also. Should I stop giving them both?
A: Ideally, all children would take this combination of a multi-vitamin (Essentials for Kids or Multi‐Vitamin Essentials, depending on their age) with the Fruit & Vegetable Essentials, as long as no medical conditions or medications prevent this. The Essentials for Kids supplement does contain a small amount of Fruit and Vegetable Blend because this provides an important variety of plant nutrients to complement the vitamins and minerals provided. The amount of this blend that can be included in the chewable is limited in order to keep the chewable  tablets from being too large. The Fruit & Vegetable Essentials capsules contain a much greater amount of these vital ingredients and also provide benefits from a probiotic complex and a digestive enzyme complex.

I have always had a hard time getting my son Joseph to take vitamins. With the new and improved formula, I have no more problems; he takes it every morning! If by chance I forget, he is there to remind me. Thank you!
