Potential Users

  • Potential users are men who:
  • are over the age of 40.
  • have a history of prostate problems.
  • have been advised by their doctor to eat lycopene rich foods.
  • want to take a proactive approach for prostate health.

Description

Men’s Pro-Care is a targeted formula providing powerful plant sources and minerals for a healthy prostate.  Ingredients in this supplement are typically used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve the urologic symptoms (e.g. weak urine flow, incomplete voiding, frequent day and night time urination) associated with mild to moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in the United States, with men over age 40 at an increased risk. Men’s Pro-Care was designed using well-documented research that suggests certain ingredients may reduce the risk of prostate problems and promote well-being.

Men's Pro-Care ingredients may also:

  • help in the maintenance of bones and teeth
  • help in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus
  • assist in connective tissue formation
  • help to maintain healthy skin
  • help the body to metabolize fats and proteins

Ingredients

Ingredient Benefit
Saw Palmetto This tropical berry reduces cell inflammation, reduces the symptoms of frequent urination and promotes healthy urination.
Pygeum (Pygeum africanum) An extract of the bark of the African prune tree, it provides moderate relief of some of the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and may have some anti-inflammatory properties.
Vitamin D3 Research supports that Vitamin D reduces both prostate cancer proliferation and its invasiveness.
Stinging Nettles (Urtica dioca) Typically used for prostate and urinary problems, this popular herb may also slow the growth of problem cells.
Lycopene A member of the carotenoid family of phytochemicals and scientifically
supported to reduce the risk of cancer, especially prostate, as well as cardiovascular disease and LDL oxidation.
Zinc Zinc plays a role in virtually all biochemical pathways and physiological processes. Prostate cells accumulate zinc and some studies suggest that cancer patients have low cellular levels of zinc.
Beta sitosterol A plant-derived sterol, also known as a phytosterol, beta sitosterol may inhibit 5-alpha reductase in prostate tissue.
Selenium Selenomethionine is a highly bioavailable and non-toxic form of selenium. Studies have shown that selenium reduced the incidence of prostate cancer and may play a role in the prevention of cancer, inflammatory disease, CHD, and infections.

Usage

Swallow two capsules with liquid each day.

For maximum absorption potential, take capsules at two separate times during the day. Take a few hours before or after taking medications.

Common Questions

Q: If I do not have prostate problems, should I still supplement with Men’s Pro‐Care?
A: Yes, we recommend Men’s Pro‐Care for all men age 40 and older as long as you have doctor approval and the ingredients do not interfere with any medication or medical conditions that you have. Supplementing with Men’s Pro‐Care will provide you with vital nutrients shown to be beneficial for your prostate.

Q: I am not 40 years old yet, should I take Men’s Pro‐Care to as a precautionary measure?

A: There is little research to support that men under 40 years of age will benefit from taking a prostate health formula.   However, if you have had prostate problems or have a family history of prostate problems, talk with your doctor about the possible benefits of supplementing with Men’s Pro‐Care.

Q: Why is Lycopene included in a formula targeted for prostate health?

A: Lycopene is a natural antioxidant found in tomatoes. Many people are aware that lycopene has been associated with cardiovascular health and positive cholesterol levels. Studies suggest that lycopene provides benefits for prostate health as well. The scientific community recommends that men over the age of 40 eat some type of cooked tomato each day in order to receive a daily intake of lycopene. Lycopene from a cooked tomato is more easily absorbed by the body than from a raw tomato. Because surveys have shown that 85% of these men’s diets lack sufficient and consistent amounts of this important nutrient, lycopene is included in Men’s Pro‐Care to support both prostate and cardiovascular health.

Q: Please tell me more about some of the other ingredients in Men’s Pro‐Care. I am not familiar with Stinging Nettles, Saw palmetto and Pygeum africanum.

A: The names of these plant‐sourced nutrients can seem strange, but they do provide great prostate health benefits which are listed on the Men’s Pro‐Care product page. Here is further information regarding these plant‐based nutrients to make you more comfortable with their technical names:

Saw Palmetto (Serenoa repens) is actually a tropical berry that grows on a scrubby palm tree from the West Indies. It has been used by Native Americans and herbalists for centuries to treat problems associated with the prostate. Scientific studies have shown its effectiveness in improving the signs and symptoms of an enlarged prostate.
Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) is an herb that grows in weedy, undisturbed areas of the United States such as forests, mountains, and roadsides. Because Stinging Nettle appears to have antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory properties, it has been used to help with prostate health, joint disorders, and respiratory health.
Pygeum (Pygeum africanum) is an extract from the bark of the African prune tree that has been used for thousands of years by African healers to treat bladder and urination disorders. It contains several compounds that help reduce the frequent urination and related sleep interruptions that are caused by an enlarged prostate.
Beta sitosterol is a plant‐derived sterol found naturally in nuts and seeds that acts as an antioxidant and a moderate free radical scavenger. Studies have shown that it can help to maintain healthful cholesterol levels.

I have been taking this product for just over a year now. I recently had my yearly exam with my doctor. Most men my age have problems with their prostate and I wanted to let you know that my doctor was amazed at my overall health and well being!
