Quality Assurance - Our Philosophy

True Essentials products are manufactured in the U.S. using ingredients that have been selected to align with our commitment to high quality products produced to standards of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).  Our  manufacturers are also certified for Over the Counter (OTC)/Pharmaceutical grade product.  The FDA requires extensive record keeping and adherence to strict standards and procedures for the creation of nutritional supplements and OTC products.  They visit and audit our manufacturers frequently.  Manufacturers must comply with these stringent GMP's. Our products are required to be tested at the time of production for contaminants and microbials (such as yeast, mold and bacteria), and each of the ingredients is verified for quality prior to use as well.  Raw material are certified by suppliers prior to delivery and are tested upon receipt for verification of identity and purity (microbial, chemical and pesticidal) prior to receipt into the manufacturing facility.  Our manufacturers share our commitment to natural,organic raw materials, high potency extracts and nutrient protection.  Our supplements are designed based upon the use of whole foods, herbs, long-life probiotics, and potent plant and fruit extracts. 

Our products must conform to FDA Food standards and all ingredients are classified as GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) or as approved by the code of DSHEA 1994.  Tablets must conform to standardized USP procedure for disintegration, so they must dissolve within 15 minutes in the stomach.  They are tested for this once they are made.  Softgels, likewise dissolve in less than 15 minutes in the stomach, and capsules must dissolve in less than 10 minutes.  When supplements are taken with food, they normally dissolve even more quickly due to the action of the potent stomach acid.  All supplements are tested at the time of production to ensure that they quickly dissolve and can be expected to do so in most people's stomachs, making them as bioavailable and sometimes more bioavailable than liquid supplements due to survival rate into the intestines where they are absorbed.

Some supplements are best provided in non-liquid form because they provide potent, highly concentrated formulas that should not need to be compromised in order to make them taste and smell pleasant.  Many powerful and important nutrients, such as herbs and concentrated plant extracts, taste "horrible" so they often must be left out of liquid supplements. 

Absorption and bioavailability are very important to us and are vital considerations during product development.  Many ofour products include synergistic ingredients that enhance the bioavailability and absorption of each other.  An example is that several products include BioPerine®, a patented extract of Piper Nigrum (black pepper) that has been shown to improve the bioavailability of curcumin, herbs, vitamins, minerals and pine bark extract. Healthy Aging, provided in the Men's and Women's Essential Packs, includes several nutrients that work together for maximum benefit.  Calcium Plus is another great example of a supplement that combinesnutrients that would have little benefit if not provided together for the body to absorb and use. 

Our best selling product, Joint Solutions with HA, is a shining example of a supplement that needs to be provided in non-liquid form.  This supplement has changed many lives in tremendous ways and provides superior results.  Other products provide the typical glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM combination, but Joint Solutions with HA™ also includes patented Biocell type II Collagen®, Hyaluronic acid (HA), and natural antioxidants and anti-inflammatories (pomegranate and turmeric and black pepper) that would never have the same results if they were not taken in combination.  The nutrients in this supplement are not appealing to drink.  In fact, they would be very difficult to drinkdue to the unpleasant taste and smell of the mixture of sulfur compounds (MSM, Glucosamine Sulfate, Chondroitin Sulfate), turmeric extract (curcumin, used for "curry" flavoring), black pepper, 5-Loxin® (Boswellia serrata), etc.  In order to provide maximum benefits, we choose to provide this potent, highly effective formula in a capsule form without compromising it in order to make its taste acceptable.
